| Brandie Burton Brandie Burton, 17, from Rialto, California, did what was expected of her by defeating Camie Hoshino, of Honolulu, by one hole, at Pine Needles Country Club, in Southern Pines, North Carolina. In her six matches, Miss Burton fell behind an opponent only in her semifinal match against Vicki Goetze, 16, from Hull, Georgia. She trailed by three holes early in the match, but she regrouped and took the lead for good on the 13th. She won by 1 up. Against Miss Hoshino, Miss Burton won three of the first four holes before she began missing greens on the second nine, but she hung on to win. At times, Miss Burton outdrove her opponents by as much as 50 yards, and could reach the greens of some par 5 holes with her second shots. |

Girls' Junior PAR AND YARDAGE – For the U.S. Girls’ Junior, Trump National Golf Club’s Old Course will play at 6,203 yards and a par of 36-36—72. The New Course will play at 6,186/6,289 yards and a par of 36-36—72. COURSE SETUP – The USGA Course Rating® and USGA Slope Rating® for the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship are 77.1/146 (Old Course) and 78.1/148 (New Course). ADMISSION – Admission is free. Tickets are not needed for this USGA championship and spectators are encouraged to attend. ARCHITECT – Trump National Golf Club’s Old Course was designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 2004. The New Course was designed by Tom Fazio II (Tom’s nephew) and opened in 2008. SCHEDULE OF PLAY: ENTRIES – A record 999 contestants entered the 2009 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, surpassing the 929 entries in 2008.
