| Mickey Wright The first playing of the Girls' Junior championship on the West Coast at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club, Pebble Beach, Calif., attracted an entry of 49. Miss Wright, the runnerup in 1950, defeated Miss Barbara McIntire, of Heather Downs, Ohio, 1 up in the final match. The defending Champion, Miss Arlene Brooks was eliminated by Miss Anne Quast, a 14-year-old from Everett, Wash., in the second round. Miss McIntire defeated Miss Quast, 2 and 1, in one semi-final; Miss Wright defeated Miss Judy Bell, of Wichita, 2 and 1, in the other. Miss Wright and Miss Quast tied for the Qualifying medal with scores of 76. |

Girls' Junior PAR AND YARDAGE – For the U.S. Girls’ Junior, Trump National Golf Club’s Old Course will play at 6,203 yards and a par of 36-36—72. The New Course will play at 6,186/6,289 yards and a par of 36-36—72. COURSE SETUP – The USGA Course Rating® and USGA Slope Rating® for the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship are 77.1/146 (Old Course) and 78.1/148 (New Course). ADMISSION – Admission is free. Tickets are not needed for this USGA championship and spectators are encouraged to attend. ARCHITECT – Trump National Golf Club’s Old Course was designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 2004. The New Course was designed by Tom Fazio II (Tom’s nephew) and opened in 2008. SCHEDULE OF PLAY: ENTRIES – A record 999 contestants entered the 2009 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, surpassing the 929 entries in 2008.
