Paula
Creamer Ruling
During play of the 12th hole in the first semi-final match of the 2003 U.S. Girls' Junior Championship, Paula Creamer's ball lay about 5 feet from the hole after three strokes. Her opponent, In-Bee Park, had a short putt for 4. Creamer addressed her ball to play her 4th stroke, and the ball moved. Creamer incurred a one stroke penalty under Rule 18-2b (not a loss of hole penalty as was reported). Creamer was required to replace the ball and she was now laying 4 and would be playing her 5th stroke. She subsequently conceded Park's 4th stroke and Creamer lost the hole.
