Eight is another classic Donald Ross hole, and is pictured in its original state in Ross's book: "Golf Has Never Failed Me." A slight draw is favored on this hole, and the second shot can be difficult depending on hole location. The ability to utilize ground features on both the drive and the approach are hallmark examples of Ross's genius, and this hole is a simple but excellent example of that design philosophy.
